An interesting take on the Getty buy-out and it’s ramifications on the stock industry.

Wow. This definitely looks like the best non-Flickr Flickr app out there. (One more reason to upgrade to Leopard…still been holding out on that…)
Interesting perspective from Chase Jarvis →
Can’t say I disagree with him. Although I don’t fully agree that we’re already at the point that he and the original article at Wired describe…yet.
Apple's "Find Out How" Videos →
The new video tutorial section on Apple’s website is simply stunning. The whole experience is beautiful in form and function. The videos themselves are spectacularly well-produced—and numerous!—and the way everything is presented on the site is a clinic in elegant, informative web design. Big kudos to the designers and content creators at Apple. In the same vein, check out...
New things hapnin'...
Just wanted to give a brief update on what’s going on with me these days. I’m getting ready to leave my job at Range, and start work for another web company with some really great potential. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my time at Range. I’ve learned a lot, made some good connections and some really good friends. But it just felt like it was time for me to move on. At my...

Chuck Klosterman's Great Man Theory
If you want to be A Great Man, you need to fail (at least once). We live in a staunchly literary world. We understand almost everything (and everyone) within the context of a narrative that’s written by circumstance and reality; each person’s history is a little story where they are the main character. As such, historical figures are remembered for the things they accomplish and the victories...

Pixish, Spec Work, and Graggers →
I gotta admit, this is a very reasoned response to the calls for lynching (including mine) that have been going out over the Pixish “spec work” issue. Derek Powazek is a good diplomat. He’s handled the backlash very well I think. And he makes some good points. It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Flickr Photo Syndrome
I think Flickr (and really the way images are viewed on the internet in general) has had a marked adverse effect on how we’ve come to view—and to make—photographs.
This is probably obvious to everyone, but I realized tonight that many photographs that would look AMAZING as large prints simply don’t look all that good on Flickr. They lose their mystique and end up looking...

Sorry for the Feed Mixup
My apologies to anyone subscribed to my RSS feed. I just realized (after a friend asked me why all kinds of weird stuff was appearing in my feed) that I had neglected to update my feed info on FeedBurner after I recently switched my Tumblr account name. So basically, my FeedBurner was grabbing somebody else’s Tumblr feed and passing it along. Awesome. Yikes! So sorry. (For the record,...

Tumblr's rich text editor.
It rocks. Just thought I’d share that. I just discovered a sweet little trick…If I’m editing in the Rich Text mode (even in the Tumblr bookmarklet popup window) and I want to ad an image from the web into my text, all I have to do is simply drag and drop the image. Yeah, that’s right. Just drag it into the text area. It fills in the proper HTML img tag for me in the...

Great, and scathing, take on the new “Pixish” by the great John Harrington. He’s right. This site is nothing but bad news.
