Muxtape easter egg
jstn: Every song uploaded since Saturday night around 7:30 works on the iPhone. The rest of them will be available soon. It takes a while to buffer over EDGE, but not as long as you might think… when’s 3G coming out again? Very exciting news. Thanks Justin.
Offices and The Creativity Zone →
This is a great article on the office/no office dynamic. His description of a typical office environment is so spot-on it’s scary.

The Latest Findings In Sleep Research. Same stuff we’ve heard before, but still fascinating. Makes me want to get more quality sleep.

Tape 1 is live. Many more to come. I need to figure out my “approach”. Themes will definitely be in order. Will narrow it down more as I go. Thousands of people everywhere are having a major John Cusack moment tonight.

This is one of the most useful Mac apps I’ve ever seen/used. I bought it as part of the “MacHeist” software bundle and I honestly stayed away from it for months, thinking I didn’t need it. I finally fired it up and was amazed. I would now recommend it heartily to anyone who is tired of trying to keep track of any sensitive information (be it internet passwords, bank account...
Adobe, you're lazy.
I’m pissed. I just upgraded to Adobe Creative Suite 3 - Master Collection. The whole kit and kabootle. And mostly, I love it. The new interfaces are wonderful (at least compared to the old ones. They’ll never be perfect.) What baffles me is that they didn’t do JACK to Fireworks! It’s still the same old interface! Come on, Adobe! I know, it’s not the MOST popular of...

Seriously, there is some great stuff here. I mostly hate most modern logos (except for a handful of good ones.)

…Embedded fonts (so cool)…WebKit transitions/effects, WebKit rounded corners, other slightly abnormal CSS usage. Just playing here. (Warning: not meant to be viewed in anything else except Safari 3.1. Seriously.)

I think this video is beautiful. The whole project is actually pretty interesting.
Teardrops on my bubble-gum heart
tps:Teardrops on my Guitar by Taylor Swift …the most fabricated, fake, piece of garbage that intelligent adults or anyone over the age of 8 shouldn’t be listening to. While I haven’t paid any attention to the rest of the song I’m sure it includes the following words: rainbows ponies or unicorns bubble-gum butterfly-kisses fluffy clouds

A very nice new look. Cleaner, snappier, and definitely less 90’s feeling in general. This makes me even more confident in selling my images there. I love it when people get things right…(seems so obvious, but it’s surprising how rare that feeling can be.)

Thoughts on "Home"
Jenny Vorwaller had some very eloquent things to say about the idea of “home” over at her blog. I think she’s on to something when she says, …standing outside the frame of normal reference and examining my lifestyle from the vantage point of a foreigner is beautiful. and now i realize that never living anywhere else would be a tragedy, because it would mean never truly...

iPhone Woes...
I just received a replacement iPhone from Apple because my former one was dropping calls like mad. Well, I was singing their praises for so quickly sending me a replacement…until today…
The new one is not dropping nearly as many calls. No, this one just doesn’t bother joining the network at all. “No Service” is all I’m getting now. If I’m lucky, it will...

Twitterrific coming to iPhone. →
(of course.) What I really want though is for iPhone Twitterific to also have “Sonic Twoosh Technology” (the sound effect that happens upon a perfect twoosh). And the kicker would be if they gave us the ability to customize the sound! With the iPhone, you could just record your own “Twoosh” sound using the built-in mic. THAT would be cool. Let’s inundate them with...
Could I take that shot? Did I?
todd says: When critiquing a photographer’s work I sometimes wonder, “couldn’t anyone have taken that shot?” But I’m realizing, what makes a great photographer is that they DID take that shot. maybe it was something just sitting out there waiting to be looked at in the right light, at the right angle… maybe it was something completely conceived within the mind of the photographer and then...

The Rubber Room →
Listen to this episode of “This American Life”. It’s fascinating…shocking actually. I had heard that something like “The Rubber Room” existed in NYC, but I never knew much about it. For those that don’t know…it is literally a purgatory for public school teachers. In fact, “purgatory” is the most perfect definition I can think of for it. A...
