Great story and some good thoughts on expectations from Derek Sivers.
I’ve noticed this principle at work with my kids (7 & 3) on many different occasions. I often simply expect them to be incredibly intelligent, communicative, funny, imaginative, and confident kids. And guess what? They are. It isn’t in some weird, heavy “gotta live up to Dad’s expectations”...
