OmniWeb, OmniDazzle, OmniDiskSweeper, and OmniObjectMeter now freeware. Very cool! I’ve used OmniDiskSweeper MANY times to figure out what is taking up space on my hard drive. It’s extremely valuable. And OmniDazzle is really cool if you’re making screencasts or doing screen sharing. Thanks OmniGroup! I’ve always liked nearly all the products that The OmniGroup puts out....

Safari 4 →
Apple just keeps pushing it forward. Seriously people. If you haven’t used Safari, get over there right now and try it. Obviously, this is an issue ripe for debate, but in my opinion it truly is the best browser out there. No one else is innovating like they are.

Good Lord, Tumblrville, get over it! You act like this is the first time you’ve ever seen the Oscars!! …could be that it’s just a few people I’m following. I loved the show too, but jeesh! This is getting ridiculous.

Advertising? On the Dashboard? Really Tumblr?
This is getting lame. Tumblr, I love you as much as anybody and have convinced many friends to join in here. But I’m really not interested in seeing huge ads across the top of my dashboard. If you’re going to pollute this experience for us, couldn’t you at least offer us an option to pay for the service (like Flickr does), so that we don’t have to view your annoying ads and...

WatchWatch
Every creative person really needs to watch this video by Zack Arias. It’s directed at photographers, but it applies to everyone. I just watched it three times in a row. Great great stuff. (Don’t get dissuaded by the first minute or so… it starts out cheeky, but gets then gets really serious.)

Choosy - A smarter default browser →
This just became infinitely more useful. In a nutshell, Choosy lets you open links in the browser (OR OTHER APPLICATION) you want. It’s an awesome tool for people who are constantly opening files of a particular type (like .html), but need to do so in various different apps. Check out this about page to see a video. It’s simpler than it sounds. And it works great.

hickensian: There is such a hole in the market for Fireworks competitor - Mac developers put down those GTD apps and get going! GREAT post. And I agree with Jon Hicks… why all the wasted time on all the GTD apps? There really IS a market for a Fireworks killer.

This gal pretty much describes perfectly why I love Jay-Z. I’ll never forget when I first fully encountered his music. In a big black SUV… driving through Portland and Vancouver… with Eric Knox (a 6’ 6” basketball-player-turned-pastor)… smoking cigars… windows down… blaring The Black Album like it was the last album on earth. It was an epiphanic...

Really nice little multi-use sticky app. Text, drawing/sketching, and alarms. All in one, and collected nicely in a slick interface.

…The number of DEATHS per year in the U.S. due to: tobacco… alcohol… marijuana. (drugwarfacts.org) If that seems absurd, it is. Absurd how backwards we are. And yet Michael Phelps is apologizing in “disgrace.” Amazing.

Requests of the Tumblr Gods...
1) Bring back the Dashboard filter. I miss it. Many people miss it. It was a handy handy thing. Especially now that Tweets can appear in my Dashboard. Filtering by type was a really great feature. 2) Private Tumblelog Enhancements. Such as… An Archive. Why has this never existed? Once posts leave the front page of a private Tumblelog, they are effectively gone forever. Permalinks on...
