Barak Hardley saved me 15 minutes. This post articulates almost precisely my feelings on the Susan Boyle phenomenon. I would only have added some stuff about the self-congratulatory, unbelievably two-faced BS treatment she was given by those bastions of culture, The Today Show. And I also would have said something like: “and really, let’s be honest, people, she’s not THAT good of a singer.”

And if you recoil at me saying that, just take a step back and picture me saying it about someone who was breathtakingly beautiful. You wouldn’t bat an eyelash. No you wouldn’t.
