Fun article on a few of the monospaced fonts that coders use. Now that I look at code close to 8 hours a day, most days, I’ve come to appreciate the ENORMOUS difference that good tools make. A good, workhourse monospace font, robust and flexible syntax highlighting (coloring), and an editor that does just exactly what you need—these are a coder’s modern-day tools of the trade. Without those elements being in perfect harmony, it would be incredibly difficult to do my work well. I guess it’s like a mechanic and his wrenches, or a painter who only buys high quality brushes. There are always tools of the trade. Only now, the tools are software, fonts, and colors.
