Frankly, I’ve not been much of a fan of Ryan McGinley’s snapshot aesthetic.
But this new series? SHEEEEEEEEEEEEIT. This is some next level work, right here. Started looking at it, skeptical, but moving through it I became more and more impressed, got to this shot, had to stuff my brains back in my skull.
Amazing. Really outstanding. First thought that popped into my mind, a thought I love to think? “I have no idea how he did this. Right on.”
I’ve got to agree. I’ve been skeptical at times and had mixed feelings of his work before. But you really can’t argue with it—this is some amazing work. Love him, hate him, agree with him or not—this is gutsy, impressive photography.
