asks:
Do you think that time flows at a constant speed? Or do we just perceive it to flow at a constant speed because we are riding in it? If it flows faster or slower, how do you think that changes the Physics that we observe?

Flow? Time? I don’t think I have a view of Time that includes “flowing”. I don’t think I have a view of Time at all.

In that case, here goes: My view of Time is more like jello. We’re riding along in a 100 million gallon vat of jello. We’re inside the jello and the jello is Time. And it’s on the back of an old pick-up truck headed for Alaska, and occasionally when we hit a bump in the road we poke through the hardened jello skin and feel the air outside, but it’s chilly so we tuck back inside and enjoy the jiggle. And Bill Cosby laughs.

Is that Steven Hawking enough for you? Obviously I don’t mind the anonymity (or I’d turn it off), but if you’re gonna ask a question like that I think it deserves a face to go with it!

This could get addicting.
