To a large extent, we’ve now handed over our memories of experiences to digital cameras.
Tweetage Wasteland : We All Have Photographic Memories
I’ve been thinking about this dynamic lately. It’s one of the reasons I almost never bring a digital camera along when I’m out with my kids at the park or wandering around in nature. I stick with an old no-idea-what-it-looks-like-until-much-later film camera. It takes away the ability to get caught up in the digitized version of the memory, and allows us to actually, you know,
have the memory. This is a real problem. And something worth considering, especially if you are trying to create good memories.
