This is us, on January 1st, burning down 2009. See, we decided that the Christmas tree, since it had been good and dead for a couple weeks, and since we needed a bit of new years catharsis, ought to become “The 2009 Tree,” a symbol for the year that had just ended.

You don’t get back time once it’s gone, so we burned the shit out of it. :)
